a little preview

based on the time it took me to post pics from the last vacation i thought i'd give a little sneak peak on katie and my adventures in boston/nyc:

yes that is a skillet of mac and cheese. you wouldn't believe what s'mac can do with noodles and cheese. . .

and last but not least, i really hope you can see the awesomeness of these shoes or i mean the wings on these shoes. . .



i love the nyc subway for seeing these shoes alone.

can you buy earring backs without earrings?

so you know that moment when you take your earrings out and you realize you're missing one of the backs?  and that now you only have one back for all your earrings because that moment has happened far too often? 

then suddenly you remember when your hair was stuck in your earring a few hours earlier and you figure it's long gone. you shake out the clothes you just took off hoping for who knows what, put your earrings away and resign yourself to making due without. then you look down and see a tiny miracle sitting on top of your cardigan.

a little shopping trip

my mom, younger sister, katie, and i spent the last friday of katie's spring break on a little shopping run in salt lake and ogden. wanted to check out city creek and do a little spring wardrobe pick-me-up but first we stopped at the church history museum and i saw this picture and fell in love:

it's called 'while mary sleeps--morning' by lester yocum. i think joseph is often forgotten in the story of the birth of christ and not many things tug at my heart like seeing father's with their children. just love it.

a little confession

sometimes i hold on to simpler times. especially when it comes to technology. it's just so much easier that way. 

and so i want to share a little piece of my simple life:

yes, yes it does have a cassette player. and yes it is the little mermaid soundtrack resting in the cradle that i think has been in there for the last 12 years. maybe more. and i pushed play today and found that sebastian has suddenly become a base and lost his charisma. 

and yes it is a giant cube that takes up a third of my nightstand. 

but it still wakes me up in the morning. and i love it.

beyond glaze craziness

beyond glaze donuts are amazing. my best friend had them at her wedding when they were just starting out in a trailor home out by ikea. and they were trendy and fun and super delicious. they're on the pricey side now but still as delicious as ever. 

the other day we got a box brought into the office by a vendor and he said not to fight over the bacon one. what?! yes, the bacon one. as my coworker described it: 'it's like all good things for breakfast'. 

we may have used it as a test of manhood to see who would eat it. and they loved it. maple bacon donuts.  who knew?
